About This Spot

Stepping into El Serranito Taqueria is like being welcomed into a small, vibrant corner of Mexico right off a busy Georgia highway. Located inside a BP station in Woodstock, this humble spot defies first impressions with a warmth and authenticity that feels deeply inviting. The pace here is easygoing, unhurried, and refreshingly genuine—perfect for a midday pause or a casual dinner on the run.

The atmosphere centers on simple, straightforward comfort rather than frills. It’s clear that the heart of El Serranito is in the kitchen and the close-knit team behind the counter, who bring care and pride to every order. The cozy yet bustling setup encourages a sense of neighborhood familiarity, where regulars and newcomers alike share a quiet nod of appreciation for the fresh, made-to-order fare.

That fresh, authentic spirit shines through in every bite—from the way the tacos come double-wrapped in corn tortillas bursting with vibrant cilantro, to the rich layers of flavor in slow-cooked Al Pastor and tender Buche. The menu feels like a personal introduction to traditional Mexican street food, but with touches that surprise and delight, like their seafood options dressed with crisp coleslaw or the comforting heft of a well-packed burrito.

El Serranito is more than a place to fill up—it’s a spot that quietly celebrates the joy of honest food. The service mirrors that approach: warm, speedy, and respectful, creating moments that are friendly and unpretentious. It’s exactly the kind of place where you find yourself thinking about the next visit even as you’re leaving, drawn not just by the flavors but by the feeling of being looked after.

For anyone who hasn’t yet ventured beyond more polished dining experiences, El Serranito offers a delicious reminder that great food and genuine hospitality can thrive in the unlikeliest of places.

This was the best burrito I have ever had. We got the California burrito and it was enough to have 2 meals. The price is great for the amount of food you are getting, and it was a quick and easy experience. The staff was so nice too! Will be back again.

Delicious tacos and very friendly customer service. Tried all of the tacos and they were all delicious. The shrimp taco was my favorite and highly recommended to try. Will try again/other food options when in the area. Don't let the location discern your idea of the food available to dine here. The family that owns/operates this food establishment is very warm and friendly to it's customers, including myself (as a first time diner).

Well I always like to go to local owner run restaurants and this one fits that bill perfectly. While I was at work, I saw on the internet that this was ranked as the best" hole in the wall" Mexican restaurant in Georgia. And I happen to be driving over that area and so I thought I'd stop by and pick up some dinners. Well the place is in a BP station and so that's why the atmosphere has got a lower ranking and it's only to go. So that's part of the atmosphere. But talk about the food. The gentleman and the lady that were running the place were happy to serve you. Very helpful. We spoke about them being listed as the best hole in the wall in Georgia and he said they've been here for 5 years. They said they've had many articles in restaurants, radio shows and the AJC while I was just waiting on my food which is cooked to order. By the way, another gentleman came in to get some tacos and he was from Mexico. We chatted for a while and he loves this place. So I ordered a steak burrito, a pork burrito and a chicken burrito all come with french fries and then I ordered some tacos al pastor for me. My tacos are great. Great street tacos with cilantro and onion and sauces from the sauce bar. I brought the burritos back to my wife, son and daughter-in-law and they really enjoyed theirs immensely. So for the real deal come eat here and I've heard and read that their tortas are even better then they're burritos have to try that next time.

I’m totally kicking myself for dragging my feet on trying this place out after my teenage son raved about these “gas station tacos” he & his buddies eat weekly. They are FRESH, AUTHENTIC, MADE TO ORDER, & DELICIOUS! There’s also a selection of fresh salsas available, some are incredibly spicy (yay!) & all are packed with flavor. Tacos are $1.75 & come on double wrapped corn tortillas with cilantro, diced onion, & limes. There are other offerings we can’t wait to try on the menu, as well. There was once a time you wouldn’t catch me eating gas station food but I have since been converters thanks to El Serranito! (I should also mention that the service was fast & friendly!)

The tacos here are amazing! Fresh, authentic and very tasty. Don’t let the location discourage you from experiencing this delicious food. Their prices are very affordable. Tacos are my number 1 and then the quesadilla. Seriously, I eat here almost once a week.

I really want everyone to truly understand what I'm about to say. I just had the BEST Mexican food that I have EVER eaten in my entire life....... Who knew a gem like this would be inside of a random BP gas station. Please do not take my word for it. Go and try it yourself. Really, you will not beleive how fresh and delicious the food is. I'm still in a little disbelief of how delicious it was?! Amazing...

Outstanding! I always say the best Mexican food around here comes out of gas station taquerias. El Serranito is no exception! Steak burrito and fries was so good. Fries fried twice and so crispy. Definately see myself coming here again.
